SELECTOR 8 is an optional passive accessory for SOLAR 50 and SOLAR 42 that expands the sound palette. Use contact microphones according to your preference. Quantum VJ is an 8-bit glitch style electronic pendant, audio visualiser and video generator. You can connect any sound source to this device via a mini-jack (synthesizer, player) or pick up external sound on the built-in microphone (random conversations, wind or music). Connecting to the preamp input on SOLAR 50 and SOLAR 42
Connect all sound sources to the selector depending on the type of connector, 3.5 mm or 6.3 mm, according to the principle of one source to one input (mini jack or 6.3 jack). Connect the shielded 3.5 jack - 3.5 jack cable (included in the set, grey or black, output cable).
Attention! The preamp input is very sensitive, so you can hear the switching clicks in SELECTOR 8. To avoid constant clicks when switching channels during playback, switch all channels from 1 to 8 a couple of times in a row with the contact microphones and sound sources already connected.
To use the QVJ pendant as a microphone, connect the black cable (shown in the diagram) to the pendant output and the other end to the selector input 8.
The radio receiver comes with a Y-cable with a TRS stereo jack to two TS jacks. You can connect one TS cable to the selector to use it as an audio source for envelope tracking, and connect the second TS cable to the SOLAR external audio input.
The second option for using the passive selector 8 is to connect synthesizers and drum machines to a single audio input, for example, to the external audio input of SOLAR. The switch also works in reverse - one input and eight outputs.
